Buffalo’s Southwest Cafe Information:
Buffalo’s Southwest Cafe Franchise Concepts, Inc. (BFCI), operates and franchises America’s premier chain of casual dining restaurants. Blending the popularity of Buffalo-style wings, fresh cooked-to-order food and value pricing with the appeal of an Old West Texas Cafe, Buffalo’s Cafe uniquely satisfies the demands of contemporary eating trends.
Appeal of an Old Western Cafe –
Buffalo’s Southwest Cafe focal point of the full-service restaurant and separate bar is the decor: from its rough wooden floors to its distressed metal ceiling. Antiques, artifacts and memorabilia throughout the rustic restaurant are complimented by hundreds of period photographs that line the wooden walls. High-back booths–which comprise the primary seating–each have a different theme: gunslingers in one, outlaw posters in another and Indians, lawmen, railroads and so on in others. All telling a story of the Old West.
The Chain’s menu is highlighted by its award-winning, world-famous Buffalo-style chicken wings and slow-roasted chicken. The plump wings are deep-fried to perfection, doused in a secret sauce of the customers choosing and served with a rich blue-cheese dip; while whole chickens are slow roasted and hickory smoked with a special seasoning. Other favorites, all cooked-to-order, include fajitas, chili, quesadillas, our new wraps, burgers and a variety of finger foods. Flavorful, hot vegetables include Texarkana corn, black beans and rice, daily homemade fries and Tumbleweed Taters and a veggie-medley. The menu also features homemade soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts–all prepared fresh on the premises.
The original Buffalo’s Cafe, prototype for the BFCI franchise concept, was launched in Roswell, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, in 1985.
BFCI initiated franchise operations in 1991, and has since opened 46 restaurants in five Southeastern states and Puerto Rico; 13 additional units are scheduled to open in 2000. Some 80% of franchisees are multiple-unit operators, the largest of whom has eight units and plans others.
Expansion plans are accelerating as new franchises nationwide join the Buffalo’s herd and existing operators continue to open new restaurants. More than 100 units are expected to be in operation within three years.
